Soundbaths By NTHNL

I began creating healing music in 2019 after discovering the power of binaural frequencies to induce deep relaxation. I would spend hours editing very simple electronically generated soundscapes and would often find myself feeling blissed out. In 2020, I decided to put more of my musical practice into it and the Tranquility Studies series was born, using binaural beating and field recording to relax the mind, while my soloistic playing on wind instruments provides the poetry to go deep within. The frequencies I use target low Alpha and high Theta waves in the brain, frequencies of deep relaxation and introspection: a truly spiritual flow state.

The Harmonic Mindfulness Soundbath is an hour-long deep listening and meditation experience which deeply relaxes while allowing for profound emotional journeying and healing. The experience begins with a brief meditation on a spiritual text (typically from the Buddhist tradition but can be from anything) and a grounding to the sounds in the room and within ourselves. An original pre-recorded soundscape consisting of electronically generated binaural beats and field recordings of peaceful natural environments is played to relax the mind. Over this soundscape, NTHNL will play a collection of wind instruments, soothing the listener while guiding them to ever deeper places within themselves.

Typically I’ll play 4-10 instruments throughout the course of a Soundhealing

Flutes, saxophone, synthesizers, healing bowls, Melodicas, harmonicas and many others…
