I have been teaching music since I was in High School. To date I’ve taught Piano, Guitar, Voice, Flute, Bass, Ableton, AP Music theory, Saxophone and Drums. I have taught ensembles and private lessons and currently lead a kid’s rock band on the Upper East Side. I have a lot of formal training but place a high premium on self-expression as that’s what most of us want to do with music, anyway.

My training includes 3 years of classical composition and music theory at the New England Conservatory, 3 years at NYU in music technology where I earned my Bachelor’s degree. I have studied classical piano and flute, played in a number of rock bands, produce electronic music in a variety of contexts, studied Japanese Shakuhachi music and Hindustani Singing. While at the New England conservatory I was a music theory tutor. I have taught courses in Sound Studies and Mindfulness at a handful of churches.

I have made music in so many different ways and configurations over the years and taught so many different types of students I feel confident I can help you accomplish what ever musical goals you have whether they be training to get into a conservatory or developing a practice of flute playing for wellness. While I am currently primarily a flutist and multi-wind player, I am a well rounded musician who can confidently teach on all aforementioned instruments.
